Difference between Aerobic and  Anaerobic Exercises

What to choose? Aerobic or Anaerobic Exercises?

Difference between Aerobic Anaerobic Exercises

Today, more and more people are interested in being fit and that is why their attention is focused on the difference between aerobic and anaerobic exercises. However, most people are not aware what the difference between these two types of exercises is. In this article we are going to present some of the most important differences between aerobic and anaerobic exercises.

The aerobic exercises involve quite an energetic physical activity that increases your heartbeat up to 65% of its maximum rate. This type of exercise should be performed for at least 20 minutes in order to get the best results. Aerobic programs involve several activities, such as running, brisk walking, bike riding, swimming etc. Aerobic functions by burning the sugars stored in the body and then gradually burning the fat too. On the other hand, anaerobic exercises require smaller time periods and include activities, such as sprinting and weight lifting. Both types of exercises have their advantages. The difference between aerobic and anaerobic exercises is that aerobics helps strengthening the cardiovascular system, while the anaerobic exercises help strengthening the muscles and joints.

Beginners are recommended to start with aerobic exercises so that they will achieve an overall fitness. However, if you are a fit person who has been regularly working out, then you may have a good endurance and an above average cardio condition, which will allow you to start your anaerobic workouts. For example, if you have been practicing jogging for a while, you might want to raise your performance and strengthen your muscles through strenuous training.

There are a lot of people who don’t really know where to start to, and that is why it is highly recommended that you should consult a professional trainer if you find yourself in the same situation. Aerobic exercises like jogging or biking improve the strength and endurance of the cardiovascular system, while the anaerobic exercises will improve the strength, agility and tone of the muscles and joints. Most people are recommended to start their exercise program with aerobic exercises as they will promote long-term heart health and overall fitness. However, for experienced people anaerobic exercises are recommended in order to hone their aerobic skills.

Soccer is one of the games that require players to be fit in both the aerobic and anaerobic ways. Soccer players are constantly moving, mixing jogging with sprinting, kicking, passing, dribbling and throw-ins. In order to be a good soccer player you need endurance to last 90 minutes on the field, but you also need agility, speed and strength in order to sprint and shot on goals.

There are many other sports that require both aerobic and anaerobic exercises during the training. If you are a parent and you want your children to have a healthy and active life, you are strongly recommended to introduce them to one of these sports. This way, your kid will be introduced to both types of exercises, while he/she will be having a lot of fun. Later, they will find it much easier to keep in fit and go on exercising by mixing and learning the difference between aerobic and anaerobic in their workout programs.
